Good to know before you start
- Subtitles made from a script you paste are always exact, in every language. Speech recognition (Transcribe, or subtitles with no script) guesses what was said, so check the lines before you publish.
- Background music, noise, several people talking at once and strong accents make speech recognition weaker in every language.
- AI voices read exactly what you write. Names, abbreviations and words from another language can be pronounced wrongly; write them the way they sound.
- Hebrew and Yiddish are written without vowel points, so an AI voice sometimes chooses the wrong reading of a word. Adding the vowel points to that word fixes it.
- Where a language has only one AI voice, every video in that language uses that voice. More voices are added as they become available.
- KolReel does not imitate real people's voices and does not clone voices.
- Want the subtitles in another language than the one spoken? Video translation, a paid add-on, does that. Writing the script in the spoken language is always free.
Speech recognition: Good means most lines are right; Fair means expect some corrections; Weak means paste your script rather than relying on it.
